The IITBAA Pune chapter has been having networking functions at regular intervals to foster interactions between alumni of IITB & also amongst other IIT’s & IIM’s in Pune. The purpose is facilitating serendipity through people interaction.

There will be a Q&A with Nitin Gupta the Founder and CEO of FlytBase, Inc. (http://flytbase.com), headquartered in Silicon Valley, USA, with R&D office at BHAU Institute, Pune. FlytBase is building the world’s first Internet of Drones (IoD) platform to help drone integrators and operators scale their commercial drone operations. Nitin is a 2004 graduate from IIT Bombay and he received his Masters from University of Maryland, College Park, USA. He has over 15 years of experience in the automation and aerial robotics industry. FlytBase was a recipient of TiE50 award at TiEcon Silicon Valley in 2017, and was a part of Cisco’s Launchpad Accelerator. FlytBase is working closely with customers in over 30 countries, to build next-generation, smart, connected commercial drones.

Some other IITAA & IIMAA in Pune will be joint partners in the function to ensure more alumni from their institutes participate. The function is open for alumni from all IIT’s & IIM’s. Every alumnus can also bring one other person who is interested in networking (need not be IIT alum).

The Y-Point Orchestra will have its next performance in Pune on 12th January 2019. The YPO has been going from strength to strength. In addition to the 5 shows they have had in Pune they have also performed in Delhi in Sept 15 & Goa in Oct 15.

The main performance will last for about two hours. IITB Alumni are welcome to invite their families and friends to join the fun evening.

IITBAA Pune Chapter has organized a Classic Rock Music program in Pune on 8th Jan, 2017 from 6pm onwards. The evening includes music, dinner & drinks. We are thankful to Enpro India who’ve partially sponsored this event.

The program shall have Shrikant Awalegaonkar -Ouch (C’79, H5) play the music of bands like Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Cream, CCR, Dire Straits, Led Zeplin, Rolling Stones, ELP, Santana, Doors, Beatles, Steely Dan and many more! Ouch has been entertaining audiences all through his days at IITB and has never stopped since. Alongside his career in IT, he continues to perform regularly with his band in the US, swinging by at his alma mater to get back to his roots and touch base with where it all began.

Ouch has put a number of songs on You tube – 206 videos.

We are happy to announce the 2nd annual bridge tournament held annually in memory of Late Prof M S Kamath, who as many of us would remember was a great bridge enthusiast himself. This is a PAN-IIT Bridge Championship Tournament for alumni members of all IITs and their friends/relatives. This event is sponsored by GS Lab.

This tournament is a pairs/trios (2-3 participants per team) event and atleast one participant in the team must from an IIT (any IIT, not just IIT Bombay) or related to an IIT alumnus (spouses, parents, children). It will be held over 2 sessions. Complimentary Lunch and tea/coffee will be served.

The following prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. A team can claim the prize in only one category.

  • Pan IIT category – 3 prizes: Rs. 2500 / 1500 / 500
  • Open category – 5 prizes: Rs. 2500 / 2000 / 1500 / 1000 / 500

Around a year ago, Y-Point Orchestra, the alumni orchestra launched in Pune with their first performance in front of a foot stomping and applauding audience of nearly 300 (a record of sorts for an alumni event in Pune). We bring you YPO’s second event in Pune, with the team performing a brand new set of old and new Hindi songs. We promise you will be clapping and singing along with the performers before the first song is over. So mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy your favourite old and new Hindi Songs rendered by YPO’s amazingly talented team.

The main performance will last for about two hours, and guess what, before the program we have Puneri Vada-Paav and Chai. IITB Alumni are welcome to invite their families and friends to join the fun evening. The ticket for the orchestra is Rs.100 per head to cover the cost of the facility, sound etc. and of course the Vada-Paav and Chai.
