IITBAA Pune Chapter invites you, family and friends to an interesting talk on Energy by Girish Sant & Dr Rahul Walawalkar.
Girish is an alumnus of IIT Bombay, B.Tech & M.Tech. He coordinates the Energy Group at Prayas (PEG). PEG works for a sustainable and more inclusive energy policy to further public interest and promotes peoples perspective on the Climate discourse. PEG has been promoting major new initiatives on Energy Efficiency, electricity access to Poor and rapid uptake of renewable energy. Girish is part of several planning committees in the Planning Commission.
Girish will talk on the triple challenges of Energy: namely energy security, social,environmental and equity issues and the approaches to address them.
Rahul holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. He leads the Emerging Technologies & Markets practice for Customized Energy Solutions(CES). CES is one of the fastest growing US energy consulting & services companies. His focus is on energy storage, renewable integration, demand response and smart grid technologies.
The talk will be followed by drinks and dinner. This is a PAN-IIT event so alumni from all IITs are encouraged to register and participate in the event.
